The High School Science team were one of the 12 finalists (out of over 150 participants) in the Innovate Kenya Competition run by the GMin NGO.
As the other Makini sections begin preparing for the 2017 Drama Festivals, the High School has already performed at the Zonal Level.
They had three items: a Solo Verse- Love Strokes, a Choral Verse- The Ceremony of Wala Kitu Kidogo and a Narrative-The Quail, The Horse, The Calabash & The Young Man.
Class 8 graduate Angela Mumbi has received the 2017 Moody Awori Scholarship at Brookhouse Secondary School.
Makini High School is a mixed day secondary school offering the Kenyan system of education.
This section focuses on cultivating the highest academic achievement, skilled application of other talents and a strong communal ethos.
We also believe in enhancing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support) by embedding them in our policies, programmes and activities in and out of school. This further enables us monitor and nurture the social, emotional, behavioural and intellectual development of our students.
In addition to quality education, Makini offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities that expose the children to growth in their talents. These may include:
- Clubs: Performing Arts- Drama and Music; Journalism and Writing, President's Awards, First Aid and St. John’s among others.
