Makini High School Team Among Top 12 Finalists at Innovate Kenya Challenge

The High School Science team were one of the 12 finalists (out of over 150 participants) in the Innovate Kenya Competition run by the GMin NGO. 

Vera Atieno and Kendi Anyika, created a project called 'SKYPOD' which proposes a aerial transport as a solution to road congestion.

They will be attending the Innovate Camp from April 9- April 15, 2017; where they will have opportunities to interact with finalists from other schools, expert mentors. They shall also engage in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related prototyping and entrepreneurship workshops. 

The winning team will receive Kshs. 50,000 towards funding for their project, as well as possible admissions to programmes at institutions such as the African Leadership Academy, African Leadership Unleashed, United World College, Watson University and Harvard University.
