In the Junior School and Middle School French is taught to all students using recommended coursebooks. Outside of the classroom lessons, the teachers have organized French Clubs for their respective sections. The club meets at the weekend and engages in activities that will enhance their French language skills. For this, Makini Schools has a Resource Centre, equipped with books, a projector, a whiteboard and high speed access to the internet. Makini Schools is also in a partnership with the Embassy of France in Kenya and the Alliance Francaise in Nairobi through which the teachers get top notch training and latest teaching resources. Our school is a member of the Alliance Francaise learning resource centre and can access their e-library at the school.

The children build on all four of their languages skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking by not only referring to books but by singing, role playing and other interactive activities which making learning fun and memorable.

Students of the French Club have presented French poems and choral verses at the Kenya National Music Festival and have held top positions in the same.

We encourage parents to motivate their children to take up French and join the club.
