Our Approach

Educational Approach

Child Centred Learning (CCL)

Makini learners are in charge of their own educational journey while the teacher is there to equip, guide and enable the child. Lessons are made relevant to the learner and therefore interesting for them. Outcomes are project/activity based.

“They focus on children as individuals.”

Educating the whole child

Besides making amazing academic progress, a Makini child is engaged in co-curricular activities based on their interest and area of talent: The school ensures that their ability is nurtured at a competitive standard. This ranges from sports to the performing arts. Beyond that, we respect all faiths and provide pastoral programmes for both Christians and Muslims.

“...supporting holistic growth of my child by balancing academic and extracurricular learning.”

Warm Relationships

The learners also have very warm relationships with their teachers and are free to express their concerns. A Makini child is encouraged to learn from his or her mistake and use that as a stepping stone to making amazing progress.

Anonymous Surveys

We conduct anonymous surveys for parents, staff and students to give them an opportunity to inform us on what is working well and what could be better. The feedback from the recent survey was overwhelmingly positive.
